Chicken Coop Building Plans – So Simple Even a Housewife Could Understand

  

Have you ever built a chicken coop at home when you were young? I remembered my father and brother building a chicken house when I was a little girl. I didn’t do much back then but I did help out by cleaning the surrounding area. Today, my husband and I wanted to build a shelter for our chickens. We started raising our own poultry because we know the benefits that the birds can provide. We didn’t want to leave the bantams out in the open because they will be preyed on.

Initially, I thought building the chicken housing will be a difficult task. My husband went online and got hold of some chicken coop plans. He bought it off a web site from a person who claimed to be an experienced poultry farmer. Surprisingly, the plans were really easy to understand. I have never built anything before and I was able to follow the instruction.

The blueprints do not look like any conventional building plans. The pictures and diagrams were very realistic and simple. Buying the building material was an easy process also because there was a list of all the construction material needed in the guide. We spent approximately $50 buying all the material we needed from the hardware store. We managed to save some money by using some recycled wood from our garage.

We managed to finish our DIY chicken coop in one weekend. We had some help from our neighbors and that speed up the process a lot. Generally, we were very happy with the end result. The chicken coop designs were so simple even a housewife could understand.
