Possum in the chicken coop?Last night, I found 2 of my banty chickens wadering in the icy driveway while the rest were roosted in the tree. I took them both to the coop, closed the door and went to bed. This morning, I went to let them out, and found one dead rooster, one very nervous hen, and a possum sound asleep in the corner. We tried waking him up, but he just showed us teeth and went back to sleep. We closed the coop for everyone's safety (after a photo shoot, of course lol) and waited till dark to open it back up. 2 hours later, he's still sleeping! My question is: Do possums usually kill chickens? ( I don't think they do) and do you think this possum will be a problem now that he knows he CAN kill a chicken? I think he was just in the coop for a free meal of chicken food and I threw the chickens right in on him. Let me know what ya think! Thanks!
