If you really want to save money you can use scrap lumber instead of buying new, there are many places that specialize in selling used lumber that has been salvaged from building demolition projects.

If you stick to the basics when you construct a chicken coop you can do it without having to spend too much of your hard earned money, remember your chickens are a lot less fussy about where they live than you are about the coop you are building. Providing them with a home that is clean, dry and well ventilated can be inexpensive and still provide you with plenty of eggs on a daily basis
