How do I know when my chickens start laying eggs?

I have two New Hampshire Reds. They are chicks right now, but I would like to know if there are any signs to tell me that they've layed their first egg, so I will know that it's time to search for it- I don't exactly want any unknown-of eggs rotting somewhere in the coop or garden.

How To Get Farmville Golden Eggs Only

Everybody wants the golden eggs. The golden eggs are worth 64 coins compared with white 8 coins, brown 16 coins, and black 32 coins and they are the treasured egg. They all are ready to harvest in 1 day so there is no penalty having golden chickens only in your hen house. The more chickens you have in your coop the more mystery eggs you will get. Take out all of your chickens from your chicken coop. Then return to your coop only the golden chickens. You can put all the other chicken elsewhere on your farm, or sell them or follow the chicken coop clues to gain more coops and house all black, all brown and all white in the individual coops. Make sure when you put the chickens in the coop that you have one golden chicken ready to harvest now. That will mean that all the chickens will be ready to be harvested too. If you have many golden chickens keep one out of the chicken coop that is ready to be harvested immediately and once you collect eggs from your golden chicken coop and find a gold mystery egg you can take them out again and replace them starting with the one you held back that is ready to be harvested. Of course this can then be accomplished with the black, brown and so on if you have many coops then all the better! When you get your golden mystery eggs be sure to share them and your neighbours will be most grateful and will return the favour.
